Plot :Ryouta Sakamoto is unemployed and lives with his mother, his only real achievement being that he is Japan's top player of the popular online video game Btooom! However, his peaceful life is about to change when he finds himself stranded on an island in the middle of nowhere, with a small green crystal embedded in his left hand and no memory of how he got there. To his shock, someone has decided to recreate the game he is so fond of in real life, with the stakes being life or death.

Armed with a bag full of unique bombs known as "BIM," the players are tasked with killing seven of their fellow participants and taking their green crystals in order to return home. Initially condemning any form of violence, Ryouta is forced to fight when he realizes that many of the other players are not as welcoming as they may seem. Teaming up with Himiko, a fellow Btooom! player, they attempt to get off of the island together, coming closer and closer to the truth behind this contest of death.

User Review:Let's all play a deadly game where our lives are on the line, where disillusion and insanity make their home, for everyone to bear their fangs to achieve the truly almighty darkness that has been lurking in everyone's hearts.

Story
Ryouta Sakamato is your typical NEET character who’s trying to survive on a living hell island that was solely created for rich people's entertainment based on an online game called Btooom!. The game is widely known for its brutal reputation all over the world. Ryouta, who is ranked 10th, is one of the high-rankers in the game. However, the real-life Btooom! will show him just how worse it is, a living hell can be. Where only the strong can avoid the ultimate humiliation and despair. Just how well can Ryouta fare in this living pit of agony and bloody hell?

Inoue Junya is a genius. This series had so much potential to arise, as well as the capability to tackle the next stage of admiration. Btooom! is well planned for its story development and somehow still appears reasonable, even with its ridiculously nonsense plot hole. As it manages to tie everything together into one new sense, Btoooom! can be considered a successful anime in the end, even if it can be a bit uncertain and absurd at times. The series does have its flaws. The pace itself is just messed up without any sense. And there are just so many questions that have been left unanswered as well. However, the show still does a good job of presenting itself as a psychological thriller series.

Character
There are a variety of characters that can be found in the series. Mostly, every single one of them had a bad personality in a sense. Since you wouldn't get picked for a deadly game without a reason, after all. Even so, every one of them does possess their own share of problems with being selected as a player in the game. Naturally, we are just drawn over by both the main leads, Ryouta and Himiko. As if there was a mysterious red string that pulled us indirectly to root for them. And to be honest, it was quite rewarding to see their character development up until the very end. It was a bit hectic here and there, but I can say that it was a worthwhile relationship.

Art and Animation
Speaking of both art and animation, Madhouse is pretty well known for its deep interest in humanity-themed anime in general. Such as the Monster series. I think the only one suitable for this series is none other than Madhouse itself. And you can see for yourself how colorful and superb the quality of its animation is. It wasn't much. But I do respect their work in this aspect. The overly detailed accuracy and the well-designed background and characters are just that good. It is an undeniable fact that there is more than meets the eyes.

Sound
The voice acting itself makes the series much more lively than was expected. In a sense, its sound effects are some of the best I’ve ever seen among its peers. While still maintaining the high quality of art and animation, they managed to make sure that it turned out just as well. The Ops, "No Pain, No Game" by Nano, is just as good. It truly describes and syncs with the anime so perfectly that it looks like a freak creation. In contrast, the Ed by May’n is as fabulous as the Op. It starts with a slow rhyme before continuing with its romantic rhyme. I simply can’t praise it any further, or it makes this look like an overstatement.

Conclusion
Btooom! is a series that is so good to the point that we need another season. While certainly, the romantic ending is quite a fine piece to be experienced. It is just far from enough as it leaves too many questions that have been left unanswered. But it is still a good series that takes pride in its good writing. In a sense, you have to see for yourself just how good this series appears to be.
